The holiday season is upon us and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s my favorite time of year and I love spending quality time with my boys baking treats and making fun crafts like these Candy Cane Christmas Trees.
There is nothing more important than spending time with our little ones and my kiddos and I are the crafty sort 🙂 These Candy Cane Christmas Trees are super versatile and can be used as ornaments, gift toppers, and even small gifts. They take hardly any time at all and are very inexpensive to make – perfect for a classroom full of kids!
What you’ll need:
- Green Felt
- glue {craft glue, or hot glue}
- yellow foam
- beads and/or other assorted “ornaments”
Instructions: Roughly measure out a piece of green felt to see how tall you want your tree to be. You want the candy cane trunk to show 🙂
Keep the felt folded and cut out a Christmas tree shape.
Cut slits where indicated for the candy cane to slide through. You want them just big enough for the candy cane.
This is what your tree should look like:
Now it’s time to decorate. Pull out the candy cane and glue on a star and some ornaments. You can use Elmer’s Glue-All or hot glue depending on ages {and speed you want to go!}. Just allow time for the glue to dry before inserting the candy cane again.
They are so pretty!
Now it’s time to insert the candy canes… And voila!
Hang them on a tree, use as a gift topper, hand them out as favors…your call!
I hope you enjoyed this little craft today and take the time to do something special with your loved ones.
